So much to see & do!
Newby Hall was built by Sir Christopher Wren, later adapted by John Carr and epitomises the ‘Georgian Age of Elegance’ with Robert Adam’s beautiful interiors. Newby is one of the finest examples of the heritage of our country, with superb paintings, Chippendale furniture, ancient Roman Statues and Gobelins tapestries, all collected by my ancestor William Weddell. We even have a famous ‘Potty’ collection!
Enjoy Newby's 25 acres of gardens - 2016 is the Year of the English Garden!
Fun for all the family with a Children's House Tour, Children's Adventure Garden and Miniature Railway and coming for Summer 2016 Gyles Brandreth's Teddy Bear Collection in a brand new exhibition.
Several special events are staged each year including a Historic Vehicle Rally, the very popular Tractor Fest and an excellent Spring Plant Fair. Newby Hall and Gardens are open from April to the end of September daily except Mondays.
