Williamson Park and the Ashton Memorial have been described as one of the wonders of Lancaster. The park has a great children's section and butterfly house. The monument which you can see from the M6 as you drive north. The views from the top are worth the walk as on a clear day you can see over to Morecambe Bay. The Cafe is worth a visit as well, with great locally produced food.
