National Trust - Northumberland Coast

A boat trip to the Farne Islands takes you to a world of puffins, seals and terns.

The Northumberland Coast has miles of golden sands, dunes rich in wildlife and rocky shores for beach combing.

A trip across the tidal causeway to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne is an extraordinary experience and there is so much to see and do, although Lindisfarne Castle itself is closed this year. Having been subject to the ravages of wind, rain and salt for centuries, it is in need of major conservation work.
